One of the main goals in this campaign is to increase awareness of the importance of walking and regular physical activity and to increase the level of daily physical activity for children and adults.

The Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association, along with the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, is promoting a walking social program entitled, WalkingWorks. This campaign is designed to help Americans live healthier lives by encouraging people to set and achieve personal walking goals. It is part of the Blue program for a healthier America. The program is meant to promote the health benefits of walking which include helping you and your family look and feel better, increase in energy levels, and an uplift of your spirits.
