Please click on the links to the ads, because they are what supports this website. There's some information about fitness equipment below, in case you are interested. But, please, don't wait for an expensive piece of equipment to start exercising! You can jump rope, climb steps, go for a fast walk, dance in your room, or any other number of free activities that will help you lose weight! For now, try to exercise for at least 10 minutes a day. When you are doing that regularly, try to exercise more -- 20 minutes a day, and eventually, an hour a day. You'll feel great, and you'll start to lose weight over time.

Exercise has been proven to improve the way we feel in many aspects, not just health wise. Exercise also boosts our self-esteem, improves our outlook on life, increases our energy, helps our body metabolize food more efficiently, improves circulation, helps in the release of stress, helps to sleep better, helps to lower our cholesterol, and makes us look great!

The best fitness equipment is the one you actually use.

Here's advice from the Federal Trade Commission on buying fitness equipment. Don't believe everything you read. Make sure that the equipment really does what the ads say they will do. The best exercise program is one that proves itself over time. Gradual changes are more likely to last. Quick fixes usually have a rebound or yo-yo effect. If they work, rapid weight loss programs will bounce back with a vengeance. The main reason people stop using fitness equipment or exercising in general is because they think they should work faster. But the body will take the time it needs to get in shape. Don't expect miracles overnight!

According to a study by the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS), exercise is vital at every age for healthy bones. The study proves that exercise is important for treating and preventing osteoporosis. Fitness equipment can improve your bone health, increases muscle strength, improve coordination and balance, and can lead to better overall health. Exercise can increase living tissue in bones just as it affects muscle. Bones become stronger with the use of fitness equipment. Young people that exercise regularly achieve maximum bone density and strength. Most people reach bone mass peaks during their early thirties. After that we begin to lose bone mass. People can help prevent the loss of bone mass by the regular use fitness equipment. Fitness equipment can improve coordination and balance and that can lead to better dexterity when walking which will help prevent falls and related injuries. This is particularly important for people diagnosed with osteoporosis and older adults.

The U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) stipulates, that kids need exercise. They recommend that children get at least one hour of physical activity every day. The NLM affirms that regular exercise can help children feel less stress, feel better about themselves and their appearance, feel more alert and ready to learn in school, maintain a healthy weight, build and maintain healthy bones, muscles, and joints, and even sleep better. The library recommends that children spend less time on sedentary activities (TV, video games, or on the computer) and more time physically active (running, playing, or using fitness equipment). Parents can set a good example by taking part in the physical activities with their kids.
